The Safety Group provides a wide range of health and safety services to the asbestos industry; If you own, occupy, manage or have responsibility for non-domestic premises, it is your legal duty to manage the risk from any materials containing asbestos under the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006.
Those individuals identified as being legally responsible may be found liable for;
* Closure of the premises
* Personal fines of up to £20,000
* Disqualification from Directorship
* A custodial sentence
In Brief, in order to discharge your legal responsibilities you must first carry out an asbestos survey to establish the presence, location, quantity, nature and condition of any asbestos on the premises.
