The Safety Group offer CPCS card scheme training to prove the skills of plant operators. It is the largest and most highly recognised card scheme for the plant industry and helps both prove workers' operating skills and promote their health and safety awareness. The CPCS scheme provides a single skills card for the plant sector of the construction industry.

The scheme aims to prove the skills of plant operators; it is based upon a mix of professional competence, experience on site and health and safety awareness - the three essential qualities for operating plant equipment safely and effectively. All users wishing to use most categories of plant equipment are required to have the card in order to legally work on site.
The Safety Group has access to  approved CPCS Training &Test centres where we can offer a wide remit of training and on-centre experience with fully qualified testers and instructors.

The actual test consists of a professional one-to-one interview with a tester, followed by a practical test. The interview will be recorded and the practical test will assess competency in operating the specific machinery. If you are a 'CITB levy' paying company you may have the right to be grant aided for all CPCS testing from 01 August 2008 - please call for more details.
